A New Page of Assistance. The Charitable Foundation launches a Humanitarian Response Project for Residents of Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Kherson Regions

The team of the Stabilization Support Services Charitable Foundation, in cooperation with the international humanitarian organization CARE and with financial support from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is launching a new humanitarian project – “Lifesaving response to protection concerns and humanitarian needs of conflict affected people in the South and South-East of Ukraine”.

As part of this project, residents of three regions of Ukraine—Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Kherson—will be able to receive assistance. The overall goal of the project is to improve access to essential assistance for communities affected by the conflict, as well as internally displaced persons. This includes humanitarian, psychological, and legal assistance. It will be implemented until May 31, 2026.

According to project manager Anna Nikolenko-Bayeva, the security situation in Ukraine remains unstable, especially in the frontline regions. The Charitable Foundation cannot stand aside and plans to continue to effectively help people cope with the challenges of war.

People living in severely affected and remote areas of southern and southeastern Ukraine know firsthand what war is. Many of them have lost the most precious things they had, but continue to fight for the lives and well-being of their families. Our plans are to help them, provide necessary services and protection. In addition, the project will focus on the psychological well-being of both adults and children. In particular, we plan to provide psychological counseling to help families overcome difficulties and build trusting relationships between children and their guardians,” – says Anna Nikolenko-Baeva.

In general, within the framework of the project, our Charitable Foundation plans to:

  • Provide drinking water to communities affected by the conflict.
  • Distribute individual hygiene kits for women, people with disabilities who need diapers and adult diapers for people with special needs and the elderly. All types of hygiene kits have different compositions and therefore meet the needs of different vulnerable groups.
  • Provide structured and unstructured psychosocial support to people in the most affected and frontline communities. Some of these activities will be dedicated to children affected by the conflict and their families.
  • Organize legal assistance for communities affected by the conflict to restore access to civil documents, file claims for compensation, and exercise their rights and powers.

Priority will be given to households affected by the war, older people, people with disabilities, and families with young children.

To respond to people’s needs as effectively as possible, our team will work with local authorities, civil society organizations, and community leaders to identify beneficiaries and ensure the effective distribution of humanitarian aid.

The project “Lifesaving response to protection concerns and humanitarian needs of conflict affected people in the South and South-East of Ukraine” is implemented by the Stabilization Support Services Charitable Foundation in partnership with the international humanitarian organization CARE, with financial support from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
