A New Wave of Humanitarian Aid Launched in Vasylivska Community

In June 2025, as part of the project “Humanitarian Assistance to War-Affected Cities and IDP Hosting Locations in Ukraine,” humanitarian aid kits were distributed in the Vasylivska community of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. This marks the beginning of the third phase of the DEC initiative, implemented by the Stabilization Support Services Charitable Foundation in cooperation with the international humanitarian organization CARE, with support from the UK’s Disasters Emergency Committee and the British people (UK Aid).

Support for War-Affected People

This stage of the project aims to support over 3,000 people across Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions. The primary focus is on assisting residents of frontline areas and internally displaced persons (IDPs) who were forced to flee their homes and start over in safer regions.

Each aid kit contains essential items, especially valuable amid unstable infrastructure and the approaching cold season:

  • Warm blankets and mattresses
  • Power banks
  • Flashlights
  • Thermoses and other basic household items

These supplies help ensure a basic level of comfort, maintain warmth, charge essential devices, and stay connected with loved ones.

Real Stories from Real People

The Foundation’s team regularly receives feedback from beneficiaries. Sincere words of gratitude are the best proof that the aid reaches those who need it most. One such story comes from Ms. Viktoriia (name changed for security reasons), an IDP from Kherson region who relocated to Mykolaiv region:

“I am truly grateful for your wonderful kit! We are IDPs from Kherson, and we’ve moved to Mykolaiv Oblast. The house we’re living in now has almost nothing. Without the mattress, we had nothing to sleep on. My mother is elderly, and when I leave home, she is alone — now we have a thermos, and she can warm herself with hot tea. We used to borrow a flashlight from neighbors, and now we have our own. Thank you sincerely!”
