In 2014, the clinic’s founder, Olha Izmailova, relocated to Kyiv from occupied Donetsk, where she had devoted 23 years to the dentistry profession and had been running her own clinic. In the capital, not only did she successfully reestablish her business, but she also discovered ways to assist others.
For several years now, Izmailov Dental has been offering complimentary dental services in Kyiv. Prior to the full-scale invasion, these services were made available to members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Even after the full-scale invasion, the clinic continued to operate tirelessly, extending help to IDPs.
“However, we eventually depleted our materials stock to continue our philanthropic efforts. Concurrently, there was a surge in the number of IDPs arriving. That’s when the Stabilization Support Services Foundation, backed by Choose Love, stepped in to aid us,” shares Olha Izmailova, the founder of the dental clinic.
Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, the clinic has been committed to offering cost-free dental services to IDPs living in difficult circumstances. The financial backing from the Foundation enabled the dental professionals to tackle more complex cases.
“Initially, we could only offer fillings with our own resources, but the Foundation facilitated the acquisition of implants. As a result, we are able to perform significant procedures that will assist in restoring the dental systems of IDPs. Among the individuals we’ve assisted is a woman who fled from Donetsk to Avdiyivka and later settled in Kyivska Oblast at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. She had significant dental issues due to her difficult life, which we managed to address,” articulates Olha Izmailova.
For complex cases, the experts at the clinic employ modern treatment techniques capable of restoring a patient’s entire dental structure utilizing just four implants. These procedures are one-of-a-kind and, as a result, carry a high cost.
Patients are treated by the clinic’s head physician Anton Izmailov, who has extensive experience in next-generation implantology. Anton studied and worked for two years at the International Academy of Dental Implantology, which is located at the University of San Diego, USA. There, he gained unique experience in the field of next-generation implantology, known as minimally invasive surgery, which allows for performing surgeries without major incisions.
“With the support from the Stabilization Support Services Foundation and Choose Love, we’ve been engaged in this endeavor for a considerable period. It’s evident that for IDPs, affording such treatments is financially unfeasible. Naturally, we couldn’t extend our aid to everyone, but we were committed to assisting those grappling with severe financial constraints,” Olha concludes.
As part of the project, we have already managed to help 6 people. A total of 17 dental implants have been installed. The treatment is ongoing.
Please note that applications for free dental care are currently not being accepted.
