Continuing to Provide Assistance to Residents of War-Affected Regions: A New Project

Throughout 2025, the Foundation, in collaboration with the charitable organization Malteser International, will implement a new project titled “Lifesaving: Protection, Shelter, and WASH for War-Affected Regions.” The goal of this initiative is to improve access to legal services, support mental health, provide assistance during the winter season, and meet the essential needs of residents in Mykolaivska, Zaporizka, and Sumska oblasts.

As part of this project, the team of the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” will supply solid fuel to over 1,200 families. The distribution of fuel briquettes will take place in two stages: during January-February and early fall.

Project manager Khrystyna Oliynyk explains: “Many households affected by the war, particularly in damaged homes or rural areas, suffer from a lack of heating due to frequent power outages. Briquettes are an affordable source of heat that will help protect people from the cold.”

The project also includes the distribution of individual non-food kits containing warm blankets, sleeping bags, power banks, essential items, and hygiene kits, including specialized ones for people with special needs.

An important aspect of the new project is providing psychological and legal assistance to those in need. According to Khrystyna Oliynyk, many individuals have lost their homes, property, and vital documents. These citizens require legal assistance to navigate the current regulatory framework governing their rights and responsibilities. Additionally, a significant number of residents need qualified psychological support, as they have experienced traumatic events.

“We plan to establish mobile teams that will provide psychological and legal assistance through individual consultations during community visits, as well as through online sessions and specialized workshops,” explains Khrystyna Oliynyk.

Overall, the project aims to assist more than 10,000 invididuals.
