The Expert Council, chaired by the representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, discussed the functioning of the Register of Damage Caused by the Russian Federation’s Aggression against Ukraine and its development plans for the coming year.
The event was opened by Olha Altunina, representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, and Hanna Khrystova, head of the Kyiv office of the Register of Damage Caused by the Russian Federation’s Aggression against Ukraine. The discussions focused on reviewing the activities and development directions of the Register. Among the main challenges noted by Hanna Khrystova were expanding access for submitting applications and widely publicizing the mechanisms of the Register’s work so that all those affected by the war could receive adequate compensation. Additionally, the community discussed the proposals from the Expert Council members on key issues and recommendations that could be included in the Commissioner’s 2025 annual report.
During the meeting, letters of appreciation were presented on behalf of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, in recognition of significant contributions to the protection of human rights. We are pleased to share that our colleague Oksana Savytska, advisor on the development of IDP Councils at the CF “Stabilization Support Services,” also received a letter of appreciation.
We advocate for the rights and interests of war victims within the framework of the Support to the Capacity of Government Institutions and Local Communities to Strengthen Social Protection Systems in Ukraine project, which is being implemented with the support of the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine.
