As part of our work to support evacuees leaving the frontline areas, including Kupyansk district, the “SSS” Charitable Foundation provided 500 transit kits at the Kharkiv Humanitarian Coordination Center.
What is included in the transit kit?
- Toothbrush and toothpaste;
- soap, shampoo;
- shaving foam and razors;
- wet wipes, pads;
- body cream, toilet paper, deodorant.
These kits allow people to maintain a basic level of hygiene, which is critical for physical and psychological health. In addition, they help prevent the spread of infections in places of temporary stay.
In November, we are also distributing non-food items (NFI) to people affected by the hostilities.
“This assistance is extremely important, especially as the winter season approaches. Mattresses, sleeping bags and winter blankets will help to ensure warmth and comfort in the places of temporary stay,” emphasizes Maria Lygianenko, regional coordinator of the ‘SSS’ Charitable Foundation in Kharkivska oblast.
What is the benefit of this help?
Thermoses will be indispensable for keeping hot water or food in the cold season. Power banks and flashlights will provide an opportunity to stay in touch and illuminate the premises even in the absence of electricity.
“We realize that this is only a small step in supporting the victims, but it makes it easier for them to adapt and recover. Our task is to be there for those who find themselves in a difficult situation, and we will continue to do our best to provide the necessary assistance,” Maria added.
The project “Emergency Response Mechanism in Ukraine” is implemented by the Stabilization Support Services Charitable Foundation in cooperation with the International Humanitarian Organization CARE and with the support of Aktion Deutschland Hilft (ADH).
