The Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” was launched in 2016 to aid individuals suffering from the consequences of the war instigated by Russia, which at the time was limited to eastern and southern Ukraine, and was still destroying lives.
We had no choice but to react to this catastrophe, so we pooled all of our resources and contacts to assemble a sizable team of professionals from various backgrounds. By February 24th, 2022, we had implemented dozens of successful projects, all designed to mitigate the social consequences of the Russian aggression against Ukraine. Today, our work continues, but with ten times the intensity. Our team has grown from 60 to 190 professionals, who provide assistance to people in all parts of the country.
“Our Foundation is a natural extension of our individual activities and the individual core values of our team,” remarks Olha Ivanova, the Foundation’s program director. “We all began as volunteers, activists, and concerned citizens who could and wanted to share their knowledge and experiences with others. We united under the Foundation to collaborate, strive for improvement, and expand the organization’s capabilities to accomplish more. We share a common dream of victory, of the day when the gravest stage of the humanitarian crisis is behind us, and we can focus our efforts on rebuilding Ukraine.
It is possible to prepare for war, but I do not believe that it is possible to be fully prepared. The same goes for our Foundation. We were making arrangements, but when the full-scale invasion broke out on February 24th, we had to quickly reorganize our operations to focus on humanitarian assistance, seek immediate funding, maintain our own safety, and help those near us. We were concerned for our colleagues in the war zone, and we had to learn to work and live under new circumstances. I can affirm that our colleagues in the regions began working within a few hours of the first missile attacks. They assisted in the evacuation of people, treated the injured, and coordinated the provision of food and medicine, along with other activists, officials, and volunteers. Much has changed over the year, but our willingness to stand up to the invasion by the forces of tyranny and to assist those in need has not wavered”
Last February was a test of our humanity and professionalism, as well as that of our partners in the public sector, donors, and government organizations. I am exceedingly grateful to all of my colleagues who successfully passed this test and continue to work for our victory and peace”.
