How our foundation responds to the needs of people in frontline communities: an explanation

Clusters of cooperation between various charitable organizations, including Stabilization Support Services, help to meet the needs of people living near the frontline as effectively as possible.

For example, when our team assembles hygiene kits or organizes water delivery, we rely on the recommendations of the WASH-Cluster. This is a cooperation between charitable organizations and communities that facilitates coordination of humanitarian partners. In particular, it collects the needs for water supply restoration and provides hygiene and sanitation items.

“This is to ensure that we allocate resources correctly and that there is no surplus of some products and shortage of others. We are not the only organization working in this area. We also take into account the wishes of people in the regions. They are collected for us by local coordinators, or our colleagues call the beneficiaries after receiving assistance from us to take into account all the wishes,” explained Yuriy Slyusarenko, Danida’s project coordinator.

Currently, within the framework of the project “Responding to Life Risks and Humanitarian Needs of the Conflict-Affected Population in Southern and Southeastern Ukraine”, our staff decided to focus primarily on the supply of water and non-food kits.

“The non-food kits will include sleeping bags, mats, blankets – everything that will help residents of the frontline areas survive the cold if there is no heating,” said Yuriy Slyusarenko.

The project “Responding to Life Risks and Humanitarian Needs of the Conflict-Affected Population in Southern and Southeastern Ukraine” is being implemented by the CCC Charitable Foundation in cooperation with the international humanitarian organization CARE with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.

As part of the project, our Foundation will provide residents of areas close to the front line with drinking water and non-food items such as flashlights, pillows, blankets, mattresses, power banks, thermal cups with lids, portable table lamps, and sleeping bags.
