“I Am Infinitely Grateful For Your Care in Such a Difficult Time.” We Continue To Support Cities Affected by Shelling

We replaced the windows damaged by an explosion in the apartment of 83-year-old Valentyna (name changed for safety reasons) from Kryvyi Rih.

“I was at home when the explosion happened. I was in another room, and the windows in the adjacent room shattered instantly from the blast wave. Glass and frames fell to the floor, scattering everywhere. I was terrified. Thankfully, I have wonderful neighbors — they helped clean up the glass and board up the windows with OSB panels. That’s how I lived without windows for two months,” Valentyna shares about the impact of the shelling on her apartment.

A social worker helped Valentyna submit a claim for the damaged housing.

“I am infinitely grateful that we, the elderly, are remembered and supported during such a difficult time. I have almost no one left: I lost two children, and my eldest grandson has been serving in the army for a year and a half. Then one day, I received a call from your foundation with the message, ‘We will install new windows for you free of charge.’ I was stunned, unable to believe it. And indeed, everything was done very quickly. Thank you,” she shares.

The assistance was provided as part of the project Humanitarian Assistance to Besieged Cities and IDP-Hosting Locations Inside Ukraine, implemented by the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” with support from the international humanitarian organization CARE and financial backing from the Disasters Emergency Committee (UKAID).
