“I Am So Grateful to the Foundation for the New Windows and Doors”: The Story of Nadiya From Kherson

The Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” continues to help Kherson residents with minor repairs to their homes damaged by the war. Ms. Nadiya is one of those already enjoying the new and improved living conditions. The woman lives with her adult son, and her apartment now has new windows and doors.

Their house has sustained around 6 nearby explosions. One of the missiles hit a neighboring apartment building. The family was at home at the time. Luckily, the missile did not explode, but the shockwave smashed the doors and windows.

“I am so grateful to the Foundation for the new windows and doors and for your help and assistance to those who need it. We liked everything: the quality of the work, communication, and attitude. Now we look forward to returning to Kherson, to our home.”

After the repairs were completed, Nadiya immediately went to Germany to treat her son, who acquired a disability during the occupation of the city. Now, they dream of returning home as soon as possible. The repairs are being carried out within the project Lifesaving Shelter, MPCA, SRH, and Protection Assistance for Conflict-Affected Communities in Rural Hromadas in Mykolaivska and Khersonska Oblasts implemented by the CO CF SSS and Kherson NGO “Successful Woman”, in collaboration with the international humanitarian organization CARE, with the support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund.
