IDP families in Poltava and Uzhgorod were provided with the basic necessities

We continue to provide basic necessities to displaced persons staying at places of compact living. Last week, we handed over household appliances, folding beds, and bed linen to the out-of-school education center in Poltava and the gymnasium in Uzhgorod — these institutions currently house IDPs from the eastern regions of Ukraine.

The provided assistance included refrigerators, washing machines, boilers, ovens, microwave ovens, irons, multicookers, kettles, extension cords, blankets, pillows, folding beds and bed linen. These items will help the residents to arrange their everyday life in the premises that were not initially adapted for residence.

This is what Valerii Parkhomenko, First Deputy Mayor of Poltava city, has to say about the provided assistance:

As of today, 55,000 IDPs are officially registered in Poltava. Thanks to the support of various organizations, the IDPs are provided with everything they need. In particular, thanks to the Charitable Organization “Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services”, one of the facilities where the displaced people stay is already equipped with washing machines, refrigerators, ovens, boilers, multicookers, kettles, as well as sleeping places, sets of bed linen, pillows and warm blankets. The shower cabins are currently being repaired.”

Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv and his Deputy Artem Pogorelov were also present during the hand-over of aid to Uzhgorod gymnasium. They made sure that the IDPs’ stay there would not interfere with the educational process and that the residents have everything they need. For our part, we would like to thank our regional coordinators Angela Babkina and Roman Shirokyi.

It is worth reminding that this activity is implemented in the frames of the United Voices for Action program, implemented by CF SSS with the support of IREX in Ukraine.
