“It’s important to me.” Olena’s story

Olena was born and lived all her life in the city of Myrnohrad, Donetsk region. She has always worked for the benefit of people: she did technical work in a hospital and as a social worker she cared for the elderly, supporting those who needed it most. With the outbreak of active hostilities, her quiet life changed forever. In 2024, Myrnohrad began to be shelled regularly, and when the situation in the city became unbearable, Olena was forced to leave her home. Moving to Kryvyi Rih in early September was the only way to find a safe haven. Here she rented an apartment and is now actively looking for a job.
Adapting to the new city remains a challenge for Olena. She, like many other internally displaced persons, faces many daily challenges as she tries to restore stability to her life.
Thanks to the Emergency Response Mechanism in Ukraine project, implemented by the Stabilization Support Services Charitable Foundation in cooperation with the International Humanitarian Organization CARE and supported by Aktion Deutschland Hilft (ADH), Olena received a hygiene kit from our foundation:
“Such support is extremely important for me, especially now that I am trying to find a job and start life from scratch in a new city. The hygiene kit I received contains everything I need: care products and household items that make my daily life a little easier. In these difficult times, even such a small help is a great support, and I am very grateful for this support,” says Olena.
