We continue to help restore housing damaged by shelling and provide humanitarian support to the affected population!

From April until the end of 2024, we are implementing a new Humanitarian Assistance to Besieged Cities and IDP-Hosting Locations Inside Ukraine project to help support Zaporizka Oblast and Kryvyi Rih residents.

“In Zaporizhzhia, 676 multi-story buildings and 887 private houses were damaged by missile strikes. Another 12 multi-story buildings were partially destroyed, and 14 private houses were completely destroyed.  Most of the damage included smashed windows, doors, and balconies. This figure is even higher in the oblast. Families with children, the elderly, and people with limited mobility are particularly in need of light repairs, as they have been living with their windows boarded up for a long time without seeing sunlight,” says Oksana Levada, regional coordinator of the DEC 2 project in Zaporizka Oblast.

Our plans for this period within the project:

  • Carry out 340 light repairs of houses damaged by shelling.
  • Distribute 400 NFI kits to provide civilians with the necessary items for the winter.

“Kryvyi Rih is constantly under attack by Russian aircraft. There are a lot of destroyed houses and broken windows in the city, damaged roofs, and some apartments burned down. Unfortunately, there are also houses that have been completely destroyed. In these circumstances, it is very important to make repairs in time for the cold season so that the houses have at least a sealed heating system. This is vital because otherwise, people will be unable to live in their apartments,” said Nadiya Aleksandrova, regional coordinator in Kryvyi Rih.

These regions have been suffering from bombardment for a long time, and our help is essential for their recovery and support. We will do our best to help those in need!

The Humanitarian Assistance to Besieged Cities and IDP-Hosting Locations Inside Ukraine project is being implemented by the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” with the support of the humanitarian organization CARE.Ukraine.
