Immediately after the Kakhovka dam was destroyed, the Charity Foundation SSS and its partners launched an immediate response to help the affected population. After realizing the scale of the flooding, it became clear that thousands of people needed comprehensive assistance, as their property was destroyed, and they were deprived of even the basic necessities. Therefore, it was decided to continue humanitarian assistance in this area.
Thus, under the project, the CF SSS, together with its partner CARE and in close coordination with local authorities, aims to provide urgent life-saving assistance in the form of hygiene kits and in-kind assistance to families affected by the destruction of the Khakhovka dam.
During the project implementation, it is planned to help more than 1,600 people, who will receive:
- 200 kits of non-food items;
- bedding sets, namely: 400 mattresses, 400 blankets, 800 pillows;
- 400 sets of thermal underwear for children aged 5 to 17 and adults;
- 215 hygiene kits.
The total project budget exceeds 159,000 euros.
The project is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and is scheduled to continue until December 31, 2023.
