The situation in the Kharkiv region is changing every day. Therefore, the team of the Charity Foundation Stabilization Support Services is at call: as soon as they get to know that combat operations subside, they go to the villages that need humanitarian assistance the most. So, since June 14, we have distributed 522 hygiene packages from CARE in 11 villages of the Kharkiv region. Because of its proximity to the line of immediate combat operations, the distribution of humanitarian aid requires ingenuity and special security measures.
“I negotiate with one of the active local residents who becomes my assistant on the spot,” says Kateryna Nechystyak, Regional Coordinator in the Kharkiv region. — He warns people 2-3 days before the distribution and helps them to choose a safe place for gathering. It can be a house with trees planted around it — then it will be difficult to notice the crowd from the drone. We also make several distribution points: for example, in the village of Oleksandrivka, we have organized four humanitarian aid distribution points for 70 people.”
Each person is given one hygiene kit, which includes toothpaste and brush, shower gel,
shampoo, shaving stick, feminine hygiene products and a washcloth. Such kits were provided to the residents of the villages of Eskhar, Oleksandrivka, Vilkhivka, Zyatky, Bashkyrivka, Feska, Barvinkove, Sokolovo, Sorokivka, Prudyanka and Yakovlivka. According to Kateryna Nechystyak, the most difficult situation with the distribution was in Oleksandrivka and Yakovlivka.
“Oleksandrivka is located on the border with Russia. People hear explosions every day, so they practically live in basements. Often there is no connection. The situation is similar in Yakovlivka: most of the village is destroyed, neither shops nor pharmacies work,” says Kateryna Nechystyak.
We will continue to support the residents of the Kharkiv territorial community.
