More than 9 thousand sets of Philips Avent for mothers and babies were provided to maternity homes and hospitals

Our joint project with Philips Avent is over. In the frames of the project, we handed over 9.395 sets for nursing mothers and babies. The sets included the most necessary things that may come in handy in the first days and months of a baby’s life: breast pumps, feeding bottles, Philips Avent soothers and pacifiers in various combinations, as well as infant formulas.

The project ran in 10 regions of Ukraine: Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv and Cherkasy. Our regional coordinators delivered kits to maternity hospitals, perinatal centers, primary health care centers and hospitals (including children’s).

This is what Anna Nikolenko-Baieva, the regional coordinator in Chernihiv region, says about the project: “In Chernihiv region, the aid from Philips Avent was extremely relevant, because the region was seriously affected by the hostilities. In February and March, due to constant shelling, women were forced to give birth in the basements of maternity homes, and constant stress resulted in frequent cases of premature births and loss of breast milk. The received aid supported women and newborn children in the first days of their lives.”

We are grateful to our partner Philips Avent for the opportunity to help those who are currently the most vulnerable and need special care.
