Since February 24, 2022, social welfare institutions have been operating under unprecedented pressure, in particular, due to the increase in the inflow of IDPs. In June, the team of the Charity Foundation SSS responded to this challenge.

In partnership with the United Nations Refugee Agency in Ukraine, we launched the project “Supporting the capacity of the social protection system to register internally displaced persons”.

Here is what our team did in 2022 as part of the project:

  • Established cooperation with 132 social protection departments in 17 oblasts, including the displaced institutions in the Donetska and Luhanska oblasts;
  • Provided 268 new workplaces with office equipment and devices;
  • Provided legal and information support to 8,319 people, covering topics ranging from IDP registration to workplace stress reduction techniques;
  • Handed over 39 generators to social protection institutions;
  • Created and distributed 33 informational materials, such as roadmaps for IDPs, infographics on IDP rights, booklets on the services of social protection departments, and guides with useful contacts in different regions;
  • Identified and eliminated an error in Diia that prevented IDPs from receiving payments from the government.

We will continue to support the social protection system. This year, the project covers all oblasts of Ukraine.
