These days, we are summarizing the achievements of one of our largest initiatives — the project supporting the social protection system.
We have dozens of indicators demonstrating our results, but instead, we decided to choose… words (and just a few numbers).
As part of the project, territorial centers received 286 pedal-powered vehicles. Thanks to these, social workers can reach their clients faster to provide services such as delivering food, medicine, or hygiene products, assisting with household tasks, and more.

137 social protection institutions received workplace equipment (laptops, uninterruptible power supplies, and more). Now, these institutions have better working conditions, and their staff can provide social services more efficiently, even during power outages.

Together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, we launched the educational series “IDP Councils: From Adaptation to Influence” (available on the Diia.Education platform). We also developed the Portal of IDP Councils website, which will serve as a platform for IDP Councils across all regions to exchange experiences.

We held four IDP Council forums and contributed to organizing two more. At the II All-Ukrainian Forum of IDP Councils, we announced the creation of the Congress of IDP Councils NGO. This organization will unite over 800 IDP Councils and boost their influence.

Thanks to our advocacy efforts:
- The procedure for providing housing assistance to IDPs has been improved.
- The bill “On Amendments to Article 5 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On the Status of Mountain Settlements in Ukraine’ Regarding the Protection of the Rights of Internally Displaced Persons” has been registered.
- Drafts of national strategies on housing rights and employment for IDPs have been developed.
These efforts will positively impact the integration of IDPs into communities.

Each of these photos is not just a backdrop for documenting our work. These are the people and events for whom we work. The “Social Sphere During Wartime” Forum in Ternopil. Social workers from the mountain village of Stavne receiving tricycles. Representatives of the Children’s Service in Zaporizhzhia receiving equipment. Members of IDP Councils brainstorming their work plans at a strategic session in Korosten. The Eastern Ukrainian Forum of IDP Councils in Poltava. This is but a fraction of the scope of the project in 2024.
We also want to express our heartfelt gratitude to those who made this project possible.
Thank you to UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine, and other partners for your support and engagement throughout the project.
Thank you to each of the 140+ team members who drove the project forward, from conceptualization to events in major cities and remote villages.
Thank you to everyone who trusted us and sought legal advice — 26,432 people! We hope that the assistance we provided was of real value to you.
Thank you to the staff of social protection institutions and members of IDP Councils who participated in our educational events, forums, and community initiatives. We sincerely hope this experience helps you drive positive change.
Throughout 2024, we worked together to make the social protection system more resilient and responsive to the challenges caused by war and displacement.
Now, we are launching the 2025 project with enthusiasm and big plans. Are you with us?
We supported the social protection system in target communities as part of the project “Supporting the Capacity of the Social Protection System to Register Internally Displaced Persons,” funded by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine.
