Our Support of the Social Protection System in January

From partnership meetings to coordinating the work of IDP Councils, this is how the year began for our project to support the social protection system. Here is what we have accomplished in January.

First of all, we continue to deliver equipment to upgrade workplaces in social protection institutions. In January, the target communities in Zhytomyrska, Zakarpatska, Ternopilska, Luhanska, Rivnenska, and Lvivska oblasts received laptops, multifunctional print and scan devices, ink cartridges, Wi-Fi routers, uninterruptible power supplies, surge protectors, and external hard drives.

“The new computer equipment will significantly improve the center’s work. Thanks to modern means of communication and information processing, we will be able to provide faster and more efficient services to visitors,” says Anna Didyk, director of the Municipal Institution “Center for Social Services” of the Pustomyty City Council in Lvivska Oblast.

We also held 9 coordination meetings with the management of social protection institutions. We summarized the achievements of 2023, presented this year’s work plan for the oblasts, and discussed the possibilities of project implementation and effective cooperation. We will tell you more about the project’s activities in upcoming posts.

We participated in coordination meetings with partners, including UNHCR, Right to Protection, and regional protection clusters.

We coordinated the work of initiative groups and newly established IDP Councils and provided them with mentoring support, such as developing strategic plans: we participated in 7 sessions and working meetings.

We took part in forums of IDP Councils in Ivano-Frankivska and Rivnenska oblasts.

We held 3 seminars for IDPs and other people affected by the war, discussing the restoration of lost documents and social benefits for IDPs.

We will continue to help improve the social protection system in the target communities in all oblasts. These initiatives are being implemented within the framework of the Supporting the Capacity of the Social Protection System to Register Internally Displaced Persons project funded by the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine.
