Restoration work is currently underway in two temporary accommodation facilities for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Zaporizhzhia. This is part of the project “Humanitarian Assistance to Affected Cities and Places of Displacement in Ukraine.”
This stage does not involve full-scale reconstruction — the focus is on assessing the damage, dismantling old structures, and installing new windows in rooms that were damaged by shelling or have simply deteriorated over time. In many of these spaces, windows were blown out during attacks or became unusable even before the full-scale invasion.
In such conditions, it is especially important to ensure a basic level of warmth, safety, and comfort for people who have already been forced to leave their homes and start over elsewhere. In two institutions is currently undergoing inspection and technical measurements — and will soon receive new windows.

The “Humanitarian Aid for Affected Cities and Places of Displacement in Ukraine” project is implemented by the Stabilization Support Services Charitable Foundation (Stabilization Support Services) in partnership with the international humanitarian organization CARE, with financial support from the Disasters Emergency Committee (UK) and the people of the United Kingdom (UK Aid).
