The Foundation’s team continues to inspect the housing of Kherson residents who have registered for the housing restoration project. Thanks to the Lifesaving Shelter, MPCA, SRH, and Protection Assistance for Conflict-Affected Communities in Rural Hromadas in Mykolaivska and Khersonska Oblasts project, we will help repair the houses and apartments that have suffered minor damage as a result of the war, such as damage to the roof, windows or doors.
Our colleagues in Kherson are working in dangerous conditions, as the city is constantly under Russian shelling. Nevertheless, we have analyzed the damage and carried out measurements in nearly 80 households. In total, we plan to help 224 people.
Oleh’s house also requires repairs after enemy attacks. This fall, a shell landed near his yard when he was away from home.
— “I remember my neighbors called me and told me that there had been a shell impact and that my house had been damaged. When I arrived, I saw that the windows were partially smashed, the doors and the roof were damaged. I look forward to the Foundation’s help because I want to prepare the house for my family’s return, which I am already waiting for,” Oleh shares with us.
After the war started, Oleh was unable to leave because of his job, but he managed to get his wife, children, and mother out. They are now abroad.
The repairs will be carried out within the framework of the project Lifesaving Shelter, MPCA, SRH, and Protection Assistance for Conflict-Affected Communities in Rural Hromadas in Mykolaivska and Khersonska Oblasts, implemented by the CO CF SSS and the NGO Successful Woman Kherson Oblast Center in cooperation with the international humanitarian organization CARE with the support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund.
