This time, we explain whether it is necessary to waive the monetary living allowance for IDPs if you have purchased real estate. We also tell you in which cases the living allowance is not provided.
QUESTION:
Is giving up monetary living allowance for IDPs mandatory if a person has purchased real estate?
ANSWER:
No.
EXPLANATION
The social protection authority also cannot refuse to provide assistance to IDPs if they have purchased housing or other real estate.
IN WHAT CASES IS THE LIVING ALLOWANCE NOT PROVIDED?*
You are not eligible to receive IDP living allowance if
- You are not registered as an IDP.
- You were registered as an IDP before February 24, 2022.
Exception:
- you were receiving monthly targeted assistance (CMU Resolution No. 505);
- you have relocated again from the territories, the list of which was approved by the Ministry of Reintegration (Order No. 309) after February 24, 2022.
- You have moved from territories not included in the list, determined by the Ministry of Reintegration (Order No. 309).
Exception:
- your residence has been destroyed or rendered uninhabitable as a result of the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

HOW DO I WAIVE THE IDP LIVING ALLOWANCE?
If you wish, you can submit an application for termination of the living allowance for IDPs. You may submit it in writing, in any format, indicating that you wish to discontinue receiving the living allowance payments starting the following month. This application should be submitted to the social protection authority.
