Residents of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions will be able to get free legal aid

Lawyers will provide free initial legal advice to residents of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions and help them draft non-procedural documents (appeals, inquiries, complaints). Both online consultations and visits of lawyers as part of mobile teams to localities are envisaged.

The peculiarity of this assistance is that it is accessible and quick legal advice on urgent issues of the affected population. The program has no restrictions on the target group, so not only IDPs but anyone who has suffered as a result of armed aggression can apply to lawyers.

“Our idea was to have specialists be mobile and travel to different villages and towns in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions. Because not all settlements have lawyers and not everyone can go to the city to get advice,” commented project manager Yulia Suchok.

Among other things, our specialists will be able to provide advice on IDP registration and rights, social and pension security, restoration of lost documents, compensation for damaged property, family and labor rights, etc.

The legal consultations will be conducted within the framework of the project “Comprehensive Assistance to Internally Displaced Persons, Non-Displaced Persons Affected by the War and Those Who Returned to Ukraine through the Provision of Protection, Psychosocial and Cash Assistance, Shelter and WASH Services”, implemented by the Stabilization Support Services Charitable Foundation and the German humanitarian organization Sign of Hope with the financial support of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany (GFFO).
