Seminar on Temporary Housing for IDPs Held in Ivano-Frankivsk

Recently, we conducted a seminar for internally displaced persons in Ivano-Frankivsk. This time, our regional team addressed the topic of housing provision for IDPs, covering:

  • The formation of a housing queue for IDPs
  • The use of housing from the temporary housing stock for IDPs
  • Compensation programs for purchasing housing for IDP defenders and preferential loans

At the event, Andriy Bezpaliuk, a representative of UNHCR, highlighted the agency’s work in providing temporary housing for IDPs. Yevhenia Mnyshenko, a representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, also discussed the draft law “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding the Housing Rights of Internally Displaced Persons.”

We are genuinely delighted that our initiatives resonate with and have practical value for our audience. “Thank you for such valuable information! At this meeting, I learned a lot of useful and important things. Yesterday, I called you, and you explained to an Administrative Service Centre worker the operation of the temporary housing stock and housing registration issues. Thank you for your help. Today, my documents were accepted, and now I am awaiting a decision,” shared Svitlana Bahan, who attended the seminar and received a consultation from our regional lawyer, Dmytro Savuliak.

We conduct educational events as part of the Supporting the Capacity of the Social Protection System to Register Internally Displaced Persons project, funded by the United Nations Refugee Agency in Ukraine.
