The Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” team has opened six social laundries in Kherson and Mykolaiv for people in difficult life circumstances, internally displaced persons, people affected by flooding, veterans, people with limited mobility, and single people, as well as large families.
In Mykolaiv, the laundries were opened on the premises of two territorial centers in two districts of the city: Tsentralnyi (19 Shevchenko Street) and Korabelnyi (8/4 Metallurhiv Street).
The laundries are open from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Laundry is accepted until 3 pm.
Another laundry was launched in Kherson for residents of the Ostriv neighborhood, which was flooded after the Kakhovka dam was destroyed. Since most of the houses there were ruined, some people are living in a designated temporary residence. The laundry room was set up for those who stay there.
Also, three social laundries are now operating in Inhulets, Lymanets, and Fedorivka villages in the Daryivska community of Khersonska Oblast. After the occupation, these villages suffered from the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant and are under constant Russian shelling. As a result, there are problems with water supply and electricity.
Laundries are equipped with washers and dryers. You can wash your clothes for free.
It is important to note that one person can bring up to 10 kilograms of laundry per day (one load). All the rules for using the social facility are clearly stated in the instructions, including the washing of casual and outerwear, as well as bedding and blankets.
The opening of social laundries became possible thanks to the initiative of the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” within the framework of the Rapid Emergency Support to Affected Population in Khersonska and Mykolaivska Regions in Southern Ukraine, Kherson Flood Response project with the support of the international humanitarian organization CARE.
