Social Workshop, Mobile Laundry Services, and Legal Assistance: Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” and German Humanitarian Organization “Sign of Hope” Launch a New Project

The Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” and the German humanitarian organization “Sign of Hope” (SoH) have begun implementing a new project titled Comprehensive Assistance to Internally Displaced Persons, Non-Displaced Persons Affected by War, and Those Who Returned to Ukraine through the Provision of Protection, Psychosocial and Cash Assistance, Housing, and WASH Services in Khersonska and Mykolaivska oblasts.

Over the course of the project, our team will work on setting up a social workshop with two main activities: sewing and light household repairs.

The workshop will be equipped with sewing machines and all necessary sewing supplies. Additionally, an assistant craftsperson will be available to help visitors.

Another aspect of the project involves light household repairs, with several types of activities available. First, tools for repairs will be available for rent, allowing anyone in need of tools to borrow them free of charge. Second, the tools can also be used on-site at the workshop.

“A craftsperson will be available in the space to offer advice and assistance with repairs, either on-site or by visiting people’s homes. This is particularly helpful for those with no prior experience using construction tools or those who find it difficult to fix broken items on their own. Ensuring accessibility is important to us — everyone can receive these services,” said Yuliya Suchok, the project manager.

We also plan to procure mobile laundry complexes equipped with showers. Essentially, these are vehicles fitted with shower cabins, washing machines, dryers, and generators. Residents will be able to wash their clothes and use the showers. This activity will take place in communities within the Khersonska and Mykolaivska oblasts affected by ongoing issues with electricity and water supply.

“We are ready to collaborate with communities that need this. If your community is facing power outages, we can help,” Yuliya added.

Another component of the project is providing free legal consultations, where residents of affected communities will receive primary legal assistance.

It’s worth noting that Khersonska and Mykolaivska oblasts suffered greatly after the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant in 2023. Many homes were flooded, and numerous communities still suffer from the effects of the disaster. Stabilizing the situation remains difficult, as the region faces constant shelling by Russian forces. The residents of these oblasts need help.

Further details about the project’s activities will be shared on our social media platforms and the Foundation’s website.
