Solid fuel and targeted cash assistance for residents of Sumy Region

With the approach of the cold season, an important initiative has started in Sumy region – registration for receiving solid fuel and targeted cash assistance for vulnerable residents. This is part of the project Winterization support for vulnerable people in frontline at-risk hromadas of Sumska oblast, which aims to provide households with the necessary resources for warmth and stability during the heating season.

The winter period in frontline communities is always associated with increased risks to the life and health of residents, especially those belonging to vulnerable groups. Providing heat is not only a matter of comfort but also a matter of safety and life preservation. In addition, providing targeted cash assistance allows households to independently purchase solid fuel according to their needs, which increases the effectiveness of support and gives a sense of control over their daily life.

Under the project, households can expect:

  • Solid fuel for heating their homes during the winter period;
  • Targeted cash assistance that can be used to purchase solid fuel.

Registration is open for households belonging to vulnerable population groups, including:

  • People aged 60+
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Single mothers or fathers
  • Large families
  • Families with children under 3 years old
  • Low-income households
  • Residents of frontline and affected communities

Detailed information about registration dates and schedules can be found on the official pages of your local communities. We recommend following updates to submit applications on time and benefit from the assistance.

The project is funded by the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund and implemented by Stabilization Support Services (SSS) in cooperation with the Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH).
