According to the government resolution adopted on October 12, several categories of higher education institution students will be able to transfer and study at the expense of the state, namely:
– Residents of temporarily occupied territories or territories where hostilities are taking place.
– IDPs.
– Children of fallen defenders of Ukraine.
– Participants in hostilities.
– Persons disabled as a result of the war and their children.
The resolution will determine the mechanism for transferring to state-funded education the above-mentioned categories of persons who are obtaining professional pre-higher or higher education. This applies to students of both public and private universities who were enrolled on contractual terms in previous years.
Our Foundation also joined in to advocate for this innovation. Back in September 2022, we sent to Mr Shkarlet, the Minister of Education and Science, the Resolution of the round table with the displaced universities “Activities of higher education institutions in conditions of displacement: challenges and new perspectives”, which was held on August 23, 2022 (https://cutt.ly/ XBE552g). In the resolution, we proposed, in particular, to make it possible to transfer students from among the IDPs and residents of TOT to budget places.
