This week, the Chairperson of the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services,” Valeriya Vershynina, attended a partners’ meeting initiated by the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine. The Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmytro Lubinets, sincerely thanked the partners, charitable organizations, and the public for their assistance in the human rights sphere.
We are genuinely proud that in 2023, we were able to expand our cooperation with the Ombudsman’s Office meaningfully. During this time, we supported the Office’s representations in 15 oblasts of Ukraine and implemented several joint media campaigns for the affected population. Here are some indicators of our powerful joint work in 2023:
- Developed 28 informational materials for the affected population (offline and online);
- Conducted a series of trainings: digital literacy training, training on working with social media, training on burnout prevention, media training, a meeting to develop a media plan, and a meeting on gender-sensitive aspects of communication;
- Expanded the regional team by involving 15 regional experts;
- Printed 51,550 copies of materials with useful information for IDPs;
- Supported 57 monitoring visits to 17 oblasts to visit temporary accommodation sites;
- Supported 6 coordination meetings at the national level;
- Equipped the workplaces of 15 Regional Offices of the Ombudsman with multifunctional devices, laptops, cartridges, routers, hard drives, uninterruptible power supplies, extension cords, desks, chairs, cabinets, shelves, and office supplies.
As Valeriya Vershynina commented, “The value of our joint work lies in the changes we bring to the real, everyday lives of displaced persons. I am grateful to Olha Altunina and Dmytro Lubinets for our collaborative work to ensure the rights of IDPs currently living in Collective Centers.”
We implement joint activities with the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine within the framework of the project Supporting the Capacity of the Social Protection System to Register Internally Displaced Persons, implemented by the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” with funding from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
