The Foundation’s team continues to carry out minor repairs to the war-damaged homes of Kherson residents. We have already inspected almost 140 houses and started repairing windows, doors, and roofs in 50 of them. There is still a lot of work to be done.
Nataliya is one of the first to have new windows in her apartment. The old ones were damaged by a shockwave from a missile. The woman lives with her daughter, who has a Group 1 disability. Both of them were at home at the time of the explosion.
– “I was thrown flat on my back, my spine was damaged, but now everything has stabilized,” Nataliya says. “We have already had new windows made and plastered everything up. We are so happy. The new windows are a source of hope and support for us. Now, with light in our apartment, we will wait for Ukraine’s victory!”
The repairs are being carried out within the project Lifesaving Shelter, MPCA, SRH, and Protection Assistance for Conflict-Affected Communities in Rural Hromadas in Mykolaivska and Khersonska Oblasts implemented by the CO CF SSS and Kherson NGO “Successful Woman”, in collaboration with the international humanitarian organization CARE, with the support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund.
