We conducted a study of the relocated institutions of Social Protection and Pension systems

The activities of social sector institutions are aimed at supporting the most socially disadvantaged and vulnerable categories of population, so the issue of ensuring their full functioning, especially in the context of a full-scale war, concerns the well-being of millions of Ukrainians. The relocation of these institutions significantly affects their ability to perform their functions, and constant monitoring of the social service providers’ urgent needs is integral to their support.

From October to December 2022, we conducted a large-scale study of the social protection system. We interviewed 26 experts from Donetska, Luhanska, Kharkivska, Zaporizka and Khersonska oblasts to determine the capacity and ability of the relocated institutions to function properly. Based on these interviews, we have formulated recommendations for amendments to Ukrainian legislation, which we will share at the presentation of the study soon.

We study the capacity of social service providers in the frames of the project “Supporting social protection system capacity in registering the internally displaced persons” funded by the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine.
