Last week our Charity Foundation, headed by regional coordinator Iryna Kulyk, provided two Social Protection agencies in Chernihivska oblast with the necessary technical equipment: Center for Provision of Administrative Services of Ivanivka Village Council and Social Protection Sector of Kulykivka Village Council. Thanks to the project “Social protection system capacity support in registering the internally displaced persons”, supported by the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine, we purchased and donated laptops, MFPs, routers, hard drives, office furniture and protective screens.
Social protection authorities have to cope with many challenges: employees of the Social Protection Sector of Kulykivka Village Council used to register internally displaced persons using old equipment, which slowed down their work. “Our equipment was outdated and computers lacked the capacity to work with the databases. Thanks to the new equipment, these problems have disappeared and now the work is much faster,” said Oksana Parandych, head of the Social Protection Sector of Kulykivka Village Council.
It was more difficult for the employees of the Centre for Provision of Administrative Services in Ivanivka. According to Svitlana Petrenko, Head of the Department for Supporting the Operation of Centre for Provision of Administrative Services of Ivanivka Village Council, after the occupation of the village, the Centre for Provision of Administrative Services employees were left without equipment, furniture and other equipment – everything was either stolen or smashed. The previous premises of the Centre for Provision of Administrative Services are not suitable for work either, so the Centre had to move to the building of the Village Council. Despite the difficult circumstances, employees continue to work with IDPs: issue certificates; re-register when people change their place of residence within the community; provide other social services and consultations. The donated technical equipment will significantly improve the working conditions of the Centre for Provision of Administrative Services and help create a new workplace for the registration of internally displaced persons.
“Thanks to the cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services”, we have equipped full-fledged and comfortable workplaces for the Centre for Provision of Administrative Services employees. Now the IDPs can receive better social administrative services. Taking into account the martial law and problems with power supply, the laptops allow them to work without network power supply,” commented Olena Shvydka, head of Ivanivka village council.
