Our project “Social protection system capacity support in registering internally displaced persons”, supported by the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine, continues. Thanks to the project, our Charity Foundation purchases and transfers equipment to communities that host IDPs from different oblasts of the country.
Last week, our regional coordinator Stanislav Troshin visited Social Protection Department of Bolhrad District State Administration and handed over 2 sets of equipment to its employees, which include: laptops, MFPs, routers, hard drives, protective screens, tables, chairs. Today, there are 8,163 registered IDPs in Bolhrad district of Odeska oblast, but people continue to arrive. Thanks to the new equipment, we have set up 3 workplaces for registering IDPs, which will improve and speed up the work of Social Protection employees.
Oleksandr Rozhkov, head of the Social Protection Department of Bolhrad Regional Military Administration, noted that the burden on the administration and employees increased with the rise of population in the district. March-April saw the biggest IDPs influx, so the old equipment was overwhelmed. The Department specialists sometimes had to work at home. According to Oleksandr, the new equipment greatly facilitated and accelerated the work of specialists of Social Protection Department of Bolhrad District State Administration.
The lack of modern equipment complicates and slows down the process of IDPs registering which puts a significant burden on Social Protection Department employees in their daily work. Hence, we identified the departments that require to upgrade in technical equipment the most and provided them with modern equipment.
