Together with our partner United Voices in Action, we have a common goal — to create IDP Councils in all the regions of Ukraine, so that IDPs can easily adapt to their new places of residence and become full-fledged civil society actors there. Thus, we continue to work in this direction.
Recently, together with our partners, we presented the concept of IDP Councils in Chernivtsi Regional State Administration. For the moment, the IDP Council already operates under the Executive Committee of Chernivtsi City Council, however, the most urgent goal is reaching the regional level.
The meeting was attended by Iryna Isopenko, Deputy Head of Chernivtsi State Administration, Valentyn Dunaievskyi, Deputy Director of the Department for Economic Development, representatives of the Stabilization Support Services and Right to Protection charity foundations, as well as a representative of the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine.
According to the results of the meeting, documents were sent to Chernivtsi Regional State Administration for further consideration. We hope we were able to convince the management of the Administration that there is a need to create a consultation and advisory body for the displaced persons.
We would like to remind that currently as many as 13 IDP Councils have been established in different regions of Ukraine. The vast majority of them have been functioning even before the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
