We Сontinue To Help Residents Of Zaporizhzhia Overcome The Consequences Of Shelling

In early May, we assessed the damage in Ms. Kateryna’s household.

Ms. Kateryna is 83 years old. She has worked all her life as an industrial designer at one of the city’s large enterprises. Kateryna lives with her son, who has a disability, so she manages his care.

“My son is what keeps me going in this life. He cannot move on his own,” says Kateryna.

During the shelling, their house was damaged, and the blast wave smashed the windows. Now, the mother and son live with their windows boarded up, which poses additional challenges. Sunlight hardly gets into one of the rooms, and the other still has broken windows that are not closed.

We are planning to replace the windows in Ms. Kateryna’s house, which will help them feel more comfortable once again.

The assistance was provided as part of the Humanitarian Assistance to Besieged Cities and IDP-Hosting Locations Inside Ukraine project implemented by the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” with the support of the humanitarian organization CARE.Ukraine.
