As part of the project “Vital Response to the Protection and Humanitarian Needs of Conflict-Affected Populations in Southern and Southeastern Ukraine,” in January-February 2026, the Stabilization Support Services Charitable Foundation distributed humanitarian aid to women in the Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions. Special personal hygiene kits were distributed to 400 women living in frontline areas.
Each kit included essential personal hygiene items: soap, sanitary pads, hand sanitizer, and wet wipes. Women and girls aged 11 to 55 from vulnerable groups were eligible to receive this aid.
Ms. Olena (name changed for security reasons) from the Zaporizhzhia region is one of those who received assistance. The woman’s family received three personal hygiene kits from the Stabilization Support Services Charitable Foundation.
“We were so looking forward to these kits! This assistance is very important and extremely necessary for our family. Our family is small, but it consists entirely of women. Besides me, I have two daughters—the younger one is 12 and the older one is 13. Everyone needs hygiene products, but it is extremely difficult to buy them in our village,” — says Ms. Olena.
The woman says that there are no pharmacies in the village at all. Currently, there is only one store that sells everything. However, due to constant unrest and shelling, it is often closed. In addition, prices there are inflated and very often they do not have everything you need.
“I am now the sole breadwinner in the family. I am raising my daughters on my own without any outside help, so we take our expenses very seriously and count every hryvnia. Buying hygiene products for all the girls for a month is not a large expense, but it is still money. Therefore, when I found out that we could receive such assistance from your Fund, I was very happy. This is a significant support for our family, because without such basic things, it is very difficult for any woman or girl to maintain feminine hygiene,” — says Ms. Olena gratefully.
Ms. Marina (name changed for security reasons) from the Kherson region also received assistance from the Charitable Foundation. Her family received three personal hygiene kits.
“We are so grateful to you for your help, you can’t even imagine. I have two daughters, both schoolgirls. The older one is graduating from school this year and dreams of going to university. I want to give them the best, but it’s very difficult. After one of the shellings, our home was badly damaged. We repaired it as best we could so that we could at least get through the winter. However, I’m not sure it will survive the next winter. So we are raising funds to repair it so that we have a place to live. Therefore, we are very grateful for any help. The kit we received is necessary for every woman, especially now, when there is no electricity or water, but we still need to maintain our personal hygiene. Thank you for caring about us,” — emphasizes Ms. Marina.
One of the priorities of the Stabilization Support Services Charitable Foundation is to provide comprehensive support to all categories of the population, as well as to meet the urgent humanitarian needs of IDPs and residents of frontline communities in territories controlled by Ukraine. Therefore, in February-March this year, our Foundation plans to distribute personal hygiene kits designed for use by the whole family. Priority will be given to displaced persons, families affected by shelling, and households whose homes have been damaged as a result of military operations.
The project “Lifesaving response to protection concerns and humanitarian needs of conflict affected people in the South and South-East of Ukraine” is implemented by the Stabilization Support Services Charitable Foundation in partnership with the international humanitarian organization CARE, with financial support from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
