The Prevention of Sexual Violence In Conflict Initiative, implemented in partnership with LaStrada-Ukraine, raised awareness of the problem of using sexual violence as a weapon of war, as well as the correlation of conflict with levels of domestic violence. Ways to confront this problem and protect vulnerable populations were also addressed.
This took the form of workshops for local social workers, conducted to resist gender stereotypes, education participants about documentation procedures for conflict-related sexual violence, and the creation of efficient referall systems for survivors of sexual violence. A total of 88 trainings and coordinational meetings took place.
More than 650,000 Ukrainan citizens were reached via events, informational materials and online media campaigns.
