“Lobanov” is a project of psychological assistance to people who suffered from psychological disorders as a result of the war. The project is named in honor of Yehor Lobanov, a senior lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a graduate of the Odesa Military Academy, an intern in the USA, posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd class. He died on February 28, 2022 near Tokmak, having saved 8 lives at the cost of his own.
The coordinator of the “Lobanov” project was his psychologist before the war and together with his family and a close friend she decided to immortalize his memory in this way.

THE PROGRAM ESSENTIALS
- The program will be implemented in Ukraine and abroad, covering those Ukrainians who have suffered psychological damage from hostilities and were forced to move to other cities and countries
- The main target audience of this program is adults aged 18 and over
- Assistance is provided through one-on-one sessions for individuals, the first consultation with a psychiatrist is mandatory
- Medications are not covered by the program, but mental health related doctors are (e.g. neurologists).
PURPOSES
- People receive the necessary psychological help and can adapt to new conditions: get a job, return to social life, get used to the specifics of different cities of Ukraine etc.
- Different categories of the population learn to expand their window of tolerance and flexibility to different circumstances in order to protect themselves in the future
- People with depressive disorder, generalized disorder, PTSD etc. learn skills to regulate emotions, anxiety and aggression in order to protect their beloved ones from various types of trauma, thus the program will reduce the level of scepticism and aggression in society
- Spreading knowledge about mental disorders will make it possible to create a network of people who will pay attention to the condition of loved ones and thus encourage them to seek mental help, instead of looking for causes only in physiology (applying to primary care doctors)
WHAT IS THE MECHANISM?
- Providing each person with 10 sessions with specialists (including a mandatory session with a psychiatrist)
- The selection of people will be based on the principle of a 15-20 minute conversation with a specialist in the field of psychological health who will check for a potential disorder, motivation to work and, after checking the test, will refer to the necessary specialist (psychiatrist or neurologist) to clarify the diagnosis
- After confirming or expanding the diagnosis, a person can get a prescription for medical treatment and get their specialist, who will work on reducing the symptoms of their condition
- After completing the program, a person leaves a non-anonymous review about the program, without specifying their diagnosis, where they confirm that they received professional help
- If a person’s economic situation improves, they have the right to extend the sessions and pay for them themselves
