Delivering Drinking Water to Communities

After the flooding and constant shelling, several settlements in Khersonska Oblast were left without drinking water. Consequently, the Foundation started delivering water to the Daryivska and Kalynivska communities and is considering ways to help the Beryslavska community.

We collect water from the Mykolaiv water supply company, test its quality, deliver it to the communities, and transfer it to tanks located in convenient places. Anyone can come at any free and safe time to draw as much water as they need. Water will be delivered approximately once a week until the end of the year.

“It is important for us not only to support Kherson residents but also to provide them with good water. That is why we always check water quality based on several indicators: water hardness and chlorine content. We monitor the water supply situation every two weeks,” says Anton, the Foundation’s engineering communications expert. “By the way, if there is a need, we bring water not only to the center of the community but also to all its settlements, which have the required tanks. If they do not, we can help them buy some.”

The assistance is provided within the framework of the Providing Multi-Sectoral Humanitarian Assistance to Conflict-Affected Populations in Ukraine project, implemented by the CF SSS together with the humanitarian organization CARE Ukraine and the Response Consortium. The program is funded by the USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA).
