Residents of Zaporizka, Sumska, and Mykolaivksa oblasts affected by the war can now access assistance from psychologists, lawyers, and case managers. This aid is provided under the Lifesaving: Protection, Shelter, and WASH for War-Affected Regions project, implemented in cooperation with Malteser International with the support of Aktion Deutschland Hilft.
According to project manager Khrystyna Oliinyk, the mobile teams will provide a wide range of services through the end of November to address various needs of local residents. These services include:
- Psychological support: individual counseling, stress management training, burnout prevention, and special activities for children.
- Legal support: consultations (online and offline) on legal issues to resolve urgent problems.
- Social support (case management): assessment of individual needs, personalized guidance, and referrals to other relevant projects, government services, or partner organizations.
“Our goal is not just to support people in a difficult time, but also to teach them how to cope with challenges. Psychological help is a way to deal with trauma, learn to move forward, and find inner strength. Legal support enables people to address complex issues that often arise in tough situations and defend their rights. And case management helps identify the best path to solve the individual problems of each beneficiary,” says Khrystyna Oliinyk.
Social work specialist Kateryna Hordiienko, who has extensive experience in social support and community work, has joined the mobile teams in Zaporizka Oblast. According to her, the team’s first visits to local settlements allowed them to meet and talk with residents and identify the most common needs. Among them are psychological support, stress management, and legal consultations.
“We strive to provide everyone with the support they need — informational, social, or psychological. Special attention is given to comprehensive assistance, which includes not only consultations but also referrals to specialized professionals or organizations capable of offering additional help,” Kateryna noted.
Information about the location and schedule of the mobile teams will be regularly published on the official websites of local authorities. Assistance can also be requested privately by calling the free hotline: 080 033 27 40 or by filling out the form at the following link: https://ee-eu.kobotoolbox.org/x/52AGOfHX
