We continue to provide assistance to residents of regions affected by the war. Throughout 2025, the Foundation, in collaboration with the charitable organization Malteser International, will implement a new project, Lifesaving: Protection, Shelter, and WASH for War-Affected Regions. Its goal is to improve access to legal services, support mental health, provide winter assistance, and ensure essential needs for residents of Mykolaivska, Zaporizka, and Sumska oblasts.
As part of this project, the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” team will provide solid fuel to over 1,200 households. The briquettes will be distributed in two phases: from January to February and early in the fall.
Project manager Khrystyna Oliinyk explains, “Many war-affected households, especially those in damaged homes or rural areas, suffer from heating shortages due to frequent power outages. Briquettes are an affordable heat source that will help protect people from the cold.”
The project also includes the distribution of individual non-food kits, which will contain warm blankets, sleeping bags, power banks, essential items, and hygiene kits, including specialized supplies for people with special needs.
An important aspect of the new project is providing psychological and legal assistance. According to Khrystyna Oliinyk, many people have lost their homes, property, and vital documents. These individuals need legal support to navigate the current regulatory framework governing their rights and responsibilities. Additionally, many residents require professional psychological support, having experienced traumatic events.
“We plan to create mobile teams that will provide psychological and legal assistance through individual consultations during community visits, as well as through online sessions and specialized training,” explains Khrystyna Oliinyk.
Overall, the project aims to assist more than 10,000 beneficiaries.
The Lifesaving: Protection, Shelter, and WASH for War-Affected Regions project is implemented by the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” in partnership with the charitable organization Malteser International, with support from Aktion Deutschland Hilft.
