The Foundation is ready to deliver drinking water to Kherson communities that lack access to it. Since late April, our team has been assisting the Daryivska and Kalynivska communities with water, which was in short supply due to flooding and constant shelling. Following a recent request from the Bilozerksa community, we have started delivering water to the village of Pravdyne, where the water supply system was damaged by shelling. To date, we have delivered nearly 600 cubic meters of drinking water.
“Access to water is one of the basic human needs. We have the ability to assist communities that, unfortunately, do not have free access to drinking water due to various circumstances. We can do this in two ways: either by bringing and filling tanks from which locals can draw water or by delivering bottled water if the community lacks tanks,” explains Anna Borysova, Director for Humanitarian Response.
Our team draws water from the Mykolaiv water utility, checks its quality, and delivers it to the respective settlements. In some villages, we transfer the water into tanks, while in others, we distribute it directly from the truck. Additionally, if a community does not have tanks, we can now help them purchase some.
Anna Borysova explains how to request assistance, “Community residents can contact us through the Foundation’s website or send messages on Facebook. We will definitely respond to these requests,” she says.
The assistance to residents of Khersonska Oblast is provided within the framework of the Providing Multi-Sectoral Humanitarian Assistance to Conflict-Affected Populations in Ukraine project, implemented by the CF SSS together with the humanitarian organization CARE Ukraine and the Response Consortium. The program is carried out with the financial support of the USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA).
