How should an IDP Council report on its work? How do you write a report that meets legal requirements?

We explored all the nuances on March 28 during the webinar “Reporting by IDP Councils: Key Stages, Structure, and Content.”

Preparing a report is an important part of an IDP Council’s work. The clarity, substance, and transparency of the report determine whether the Council earns the trust of the community, partners, and authorities.

Together with Anastasiia Serbina — an expert in internal displacement and democratic governance, and founder of the AC Training Group — we examined:

  • Types of reports and what should be considered at each stage of preparation;
  • Legal requirements for IDP Council reporting;
  • Ways to structure a report and what it must include;
  • Remarks on reporting from the Analytical Report of the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the Activities of IDP Councils.

“IDP Councils should report on their work, which must be visible and transparent. Reports are a way to tell the story of everything you’ve managed to achieve on an unpaid basis. They help demonstrate that the Council can serve as an effective platform for communication and collaboration,” says Anastasiia Serbina.

“The CO SSS is providing support to IDP Councils as part of the Support to the Capacity of Government Institutions and Local Communities To Strengthen Social Protection Systems in Ukraine project. We organize workshops and trainings to build their capacity, host strategic sessions, and provide advisory and mentoring support. This webinar covered a crucial and practical topic, as reporting is a vital stage of an IDP Council’s work. We offer specific advice to help make reports high-quality, substantive, and informative,” emphasizes Kristina Myronenko, project manager at the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services”.

Thank you to everyone who joined and contributed to the conversation.
