Our Foundation’s team delivered humanitarian aid to 70-year-old Halyna Fedorivna [name changed] — a humanitarian kit for people with disabilities and limited mobility. The kit includes adult diapers, absorbent pads, soap, laundry detergent, a towel, and rubber gloves.

Halyna Fedorivna lives alone in Kherson and cannot move independently, so she cannot go out for groceries or prepare meals. That is why the Foundation’s staff delivered the kit directly to her home.

“I want to thank you. The kit was very much needed because I can’t walk. Thank you very much for caring about us,” said Halyna Fedorivna.

She has lived in Kherson all her life and says that the shelling rarely stops. Moreover, a strike recently hit the neighborhood where she resides.

“It was loud, terrifying. People from our building were among the casualties. So much suffering has been inflicted on us here. It was very loud in our neighborhood. People in our building were affected. We have suffered so many times already,” she adds.

However, when asked about evacuating to a safer place, she says she does not want to leave her home. She insists she will wait here for Victory. Besides, the people who remain in the city are not indifferent to Halyna Fedorivna. She has a relative who visits weekly to bring groceries, help with household chores, and offer support. Her neighbors also check in on her and keep her company.

As a reminder, during the distribution of humanitarian aid, if someone cannot collect their kit for any reason, we can help deliver it directly to those in need. For us, this is an essential part of our mission — to assist and support.

We strive to provide people with basic necessities in areas where communications are often down and shelling is constant. In particular, people with disabilities require specialized equipment, medication, food, and other essential items that may be unavailable in their region due to the war.

This assistance was made possible through the implementation of the project Response to Protection Risks and Humanitarian Needs of Conflict-Affected Population in South and South-East of Ukraine project, carried out by the CF SSS together with the international humanitarian organization CARE, with financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
