The CF SSS team continues working in the communities of Khersonska and Mykolaivska oblasts and registering the residents for cash assistance. Some have already received it. As of today, 1,136 people have already received 10,800 hryvnias per person. Among them were Iryna and her husband, residents of the Velykooleksandrivska community of Khersonska Oblast.
Iryna and her husband are pensioners. The family has survived through the occupation, and now they need money for medical treatment. Iryna has cancer, and her husband has a disability after undergoing a leg amputation recently. Moreover, their house has been damaged by several nearby explosions. Their windows have been shattered, and the family has to live with their windows boarded up.
A different organization visited us to register us for cash assistance. They were here for two days. Right when my husband was in the hospital and needed to be looked after. I was so distraught that I didn’t have time to register,” says Iryna. “Then I heard that the SSS would come and that we meet all the criteria. I was so happy that your Foundation would visit and I could receive money to buy medicines.”
Iryna emphasized that the registration was quick and simple. She got a call with an invitation for a specific date and time, she did not have to wait in a queue being jostled in the middle of a crowd.
“I had a good experience dealing with the registrars. I am very grateful for the money I received as we spend most of our resources on medicines. The Foundation helped us a lot.”
Iryna and her husband were provided assistance thanks to the Providing Multi-Sectoral Humanitarian Assistance to Conflict-Affected Populations in Ukraine project, implemented by the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” together with the humanitarian organization CARE Ukraine and the Response Consortium with the financial support of the USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA).
