The Izium Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Enterprise has received essential specialized equipment from our foundation to modernize the city’s wastewater treatment facilities within the framework of the project “Strengthening the resilience and protection of conflict-affected people, communities and systems in central and eastern Ukraine”. This support represents a significant contribution to the recovery and reinforcement of Izium’s critical infrastructure, which has endured substantial strain as a result of the war.

The delivered equipment includes two fully assembled pump units, two control stations, and sixteen thermoresistor couplings.

The new equipment is intended to replace outdated and worn components that no longer meet modern standards of efficiency and safety. The new pump units and control stations will ensure stable operation of the treatment facilities and uninterrupted water supply, while the thermoresistor couplings will enhance the reliability of the networks and reduce the risk of emergencies.

Despite challenging winter conditions — when low temperatures and adverse weather complicate work in open areas — the municipal enterprise has already begun preparatory activities and is preparing sites for the installation of the new equipment. Once the security situation stabilizes and weather conditions improve, installation works and replacement of the old units will commence.

As a result of installing the new equipment, the quality and safety of the water supply for the city’s residents will improve, the risk of accidents and service disruptions will decrease, and the operation of the treatment facilities will be modernized in line with contemporary technical standards.

This project is not a one-time initiative but part of a broader, systematic support for Izium. Our foundation plans to continue cooperating with the community and municipal services of the city in the coming years, as long as the security situation allows. We are convinced that consistent steps toward infrastructure recovery are key to the resilience of the community, as well as the comfort and safety of its residents, even during the most challenging times.

The Strengthening Resilience and Protection of Conflict-Affected Individuals, Communities, and Systems in Central and Eastern Ukraine project is implemented by the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” in cooperation with the international humanitarian organization CARE and with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
