More Aid Is Coming: Chernihivska Oblast Joins CF SSS’s Humanitarian Project

The Lifesaving: Protection, Shelter, and WASH for War-Affected Regions project, which our Foundation’s team is implementing in Zaporizka, Mykolaivska, and Sumska Oblasts, is expanding to Chernihivska Oblast as well.

The expansion was the result of a joint decision by donors and the Foundation’s humanitarian team. Their combined efforts have made it possible to include another oblast in need of urgent support. From now on, residents of affected communities in Chernihivska Oblast will receive assistance aimed at improving access to legal services, supporting mental health, meeting basic hygiene needs, and preparing for winter.

Project Manager Serhii Baranov notes:

“In just over six months of implementing this project, the team has demonstrated successful results in the three target regions. Thousands of people have received three types of hygiene kits and individual non-food item kits with warm blankets, sleeping bags, power banks, and essential items. We are also distributing fuel briquettes in preparation for the winter period. People continue to receive professional support from specialists in mobile teams — lawyers, psychologists, and case managers. It was these results that were decisive for the donors in their decision to include Chernihivska Oblast in the project as well.”

An important project update is the introduction of multi-purpose cash assistance for beneficiaries. Program coordinators will soon begin registration for assistance in the communities of all four oblasts covered by the project.

The assistance will be UAH 3,600 per person per month for three months. The number of family members is not restricted. The payment will be made as a lump sum for the entire period, meaning each registered participant will receive UAH 10,800.

The cash assistance will be provided based on vulnerability criteria, which the foundation will announce soon.

The project is implemented by the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” in partnership with the charitable organization Malteser International, with support from Aktion Deutschland Hilft.
