In July 2025, Zaporizhzhia came under one of the aerial attacks. One of the dormitories, home to more than 120 internally displaced persons, sustained significant damage from the blast wave. Windows were blown out in residential rooms as well as in shared spaces. People who had already lost their homes due to the war were now forced to live without daylight and comfort.

The director of the student campus reached out to our foundation with a request for assistance in restoring the damaged housing.

Within the framework of the project “Strengthening the resilience and protection of conflict-affected individuals, communities, and systems in central and eastern Ukraine,” we installed 31 new windows in the dormitory.

One of the residents, Dmytro, shares:
“This winter was the hardest. When plywood replaces windows, it barely protects from the cold, and you constantly feel the мороз. On top of that, you lose track of day and night because there is no proper light, no sense of a normal daily rhythm. It is very exhausting both physically and emotionally. Finally, with the new windows, it will be much warmer and more comfortable. Thank you for this work.”
The Strengthening resilience and protection of conflict-affected individuals, communities, and systems in Central and Eastern Ukraine project is implemented by the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” in cooperation with the international humanitarian organization CARE and with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
