This May and June, we supported IDP Councils across Ukraine by holding training sessions, strategic sessions, webinars, consultations, and integration events for hundreds of participants. We focused on strengthening the Councils’ role as agents of change in their communities, helping them develop strategies for their work and build effective relationships with IDPs.

Our activities included:

◄ 18 training sessions across 13 oblasts to build the capacity of IDP Councils, with 326 Council members taking part.

◄ 2 nationwide webinars for 323 participants, focusing on how to evaluate local IDP support programs and the work of the Councils themselves.

The webinars are available on our YouTube channel.

◄ 3 strategic sessions in Vinnytska, Kirovohradska, and Kyivska Oblasts, bringing together 35 IDP Council members to plan for the future.

◄ 24 integration events in 23 oblasts for World Refugee Day, with 515 IDP Council members participating. These events — including round tables, seminars, and meetings — underscored the importance of support, connection, and integration for displaced people and highlighted the role of IDP Councils as drivers of change.

◄ 37 IDP Council meetings supported through our mentorship program. The project’s regional teams also provided 247 consultations to the Councils on topics like advocacy, reporting, work planning, and organizational matters, as well as guidance on forming Councils and managing changes in their membership.

We support IDP Councils through the Support to the Capacity of Government Institutions and Local Communities to Strengthen Social Protection Systems in Ukraine project, implemented with the support of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine.
