Our Foundation’s team has completed the Lifesaving: Protection, Shelter, and WASH for War-Affected Regions project. Over the course of a year, we have supported thousands of people in communities in the Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Chernihiv regions who live near the front line.
Through this project, we were able to help 29,100 beneficiaries. In particular, we managed to:
- Provide people with heating;
3,874 households (7,122 beneficiaries) received solid fuel. In total, our team distributed 11,703 tons of fuel briquettes.
- Support families with non-food items;
3,500 people received individual NFI kits from us, which included a mattress, sleeping bag, thermal blanket, thermos, power bank, and flashlight.
- Expand access to hygiene for 12,209 residents of frontline communities;
We distributed 9,978 individual hygiene kits, 4,000 menstrual kits, and 4,000 PSN kits for people with special needs.
- Organize psychological and legal assistance;
Our mobile team specialists conducted 105 psychological training sessions for over 800 participants and provided 709 individual psychological consultations to 107 beneficiaries. Lawyers conducted 2,293 consultations in the target regions of the project. A total of 1,842 beneficiaries received legal assistance. Within the framework of case management, specialists supported 1,569 people, of whom 1,036 were referred to other organizations where they received the necessary services and support.
- Provide financial support
5,402 people received multi-purpose cash assistance (MPCA) in the amount of UAH 10,800 as a one-time payment. In total, almost UAH 58.4 million was distributed.
According to project manager Serhii Baranov, the assistance provided by the CF SSS is particularly important, since people in frontline communities have been suffering from regular shelling for a long time.
“This project provided a great deal of comprehensive assistance to people. It is especially valuable that among our beneficiaries were children growing up near combat zones. Mobile team specialists conducted training sessions for them, which became an unforgettable event that brought them great joy. I sincerely thank our partners, Malteser International and Aktion Deutschland Hilft, for their trust and cooperation. Together, we have managed to help those who need it most today,” emphasized Serhii Baranov.
